Small pay hike suggested for county managers

The Berks County commissioners Tuesday proposed increasing the raises of about 500 managers by 0.50 percent to 3 percent in the $465.7 million preliminary budget, to bring the managers' salaries equivalent to raises for employees.

The $99,000 increase for the raises is a minor revision that will have no impact on the overall proposed spending plan that calls for no tax increase, officials said.
